11.8.12 | New York, NY | Julian Seward, Principal of Swanke Hayden Connell Architects (SHCA) for almost 15 years, has relocated from the London office to the New York office.
A graduate of Brighton Polytechnic School of Architecture and Interior Design, Julian began his career in New York. After five years in Chicago with another leading international firm, he co-established two design practices in London before joining SHCA in 1998. Made a Principal in 2000, Julian has developed integrated interior design services in the firm for the business benefit of clients across many building types and sectors.
In over thirty-five years of practice, Julian has designed and managed projects in the USA, Europe and Asia, in workplace, retail, healthcare and leisure for commercial, corporate and public sector clients. He has led large design teams for projects up to 1.2 million sq.ft. in size and over $500m in value. Award-winning projects and clients include MoD, Citibank, Lehman Brothers, GlaxoSmithKline, McKinsey, BP and Skanska. Julian?s interest in client interface, design collaboration and project team coordination has been regularly deployed to lead teams to success in PPP and PFI as well as client - direct commissions.
Julian has been a regular speaker, moderator and author on project design, team communications and PFI competition, and is a member of the BCO and an International Associate of the IIDA.
Swanke Hayden Connell Architects is the continuation of an architectural practice founded in 1906.
